Atchity Family Reunion

Last Saturday was the Atchity Famiy Reunion. We had almost 70 people from the family in one place!

Here are a few of my favorite shots.
Hake is the coolest:

Weekend in Kansas City

We spent the weekend with my cousins in Kansas City. Who needs Disneyland when the Henshaw house is the coolest place on earth.

Mandy (left) and Abby on the plasma bike.

Abby, Me, Hake, Mandy in PJs:

Dad wanted to know what it feels like to walk in cousin Jeff’s shoes

Cousin Jeff’s tools. Don’t touch!

Dreaming big:

Abby takes Daddy for a ride:

Cousin Jeff taught me to play tennis:

And Hake helped:

My first time fishing! The Henshaws even have a pond!

My cousin Jaclyn taught me how to fish (and daddy and Uncle Rick kept me from falling in):

My first fish! (look closely, it’s there)

A lucky kid has this much family to fish with:

Making S’mores:

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

By the end of the weekend, I was BEAT:

Yankee Doodle

Yankee Doodle went to town

Riding on a pony

Stuck a feather in his hat

And called it macaroni

Here’s how I sing it:

Yankee Doodle went to town

Whiding on da pony

Tuck a fedder in this hat

And called it wackaroni

Dad, there’s nothing like him.

Dear Dad,

Happy Father’s Day! I love you because you do so much for me.

You started by painting my nursery.  Since then, you’ve painted stripes in my big boy room and hung 50 license plates on the walls.

You show me the world:

If you get tired of reading to me every night, you never show it.

You help me blow out candles if I need it.

You’ve taught me the importance of family

by loving my abuelo

and my Jidi .

Since the day I was born, you’ve carried me. I always want to be held and snuggled and you’ve never stopped and never complained about it. You’ve carried me for what must be miles by now. Carried me around the house, around the park when I won’t stay in the stroller, around countless airports, in the back of countless airplanes, in fun places like London and Victoria, in the middle of the night next to the crib and up and down stairs and at parties and to visit work friends and at restaurants and anywhere and everywhere. No one carries me like you do. I love you. No one is as lucky as I am.
