After two days of travel, we finally settled down in our place in Tuscany.
Our 11 hour flight from Seattle was pretty awesome – I had my own TV with kids channels and I watched Bob the Builder. I managed to sleep about 5 hours before we landed. Once in London, I got my passport stamped and we were off to enjoy our long layover. My favorite part were all the train rides – my parents kept calling it the TUBE.
We took the next flight to Rome and Mom told me the story about Pinocchio and said he lives in Italy. The Rome airport lost my carseat – our Italian driver said “In Italia – no problemo.” Once to our hotel, we went straight to bed. The next morning we went to see the Pope at the Vatican, we thought we had an audience with him, but he stood us up. Oh well, maybe next trip.
Nothing would do until I had my very own Pinocchio – in fact, I talked about nothing else. Luckily, we found a shop where I could get one.
Then we hopped a train to Tuscany and met up with Uncle Mark, Aunt Shauna, Grandma and Jidi. Grandma made us homemade Bolognese as we enjoyed our first night in Tuscany. Leave it to Grandma to learn to cook here.
I will try to post pictures soon! We are off to the vineyards!
