Canadian Horses

Last week we went to visit the Buttaweam Ranch in Alberta, Canada. More on the ranch in posts to come. I learned a lot about horses and the care and feeding of them. I had the chance to ride one, but quickly passed it up.
When we arrived on the ranch, we met Henry the Horse and Melanie. They are Doug and Wendi’s horses and they LOVE carrots. My cousins, Anthony and Katy, and I took this responsibility very seriously.

Once Anthony taught me the right way to hold the carrot, I was good to go on my own.

I might have given them more carrots than they needed.

Every morning when I woke up, I wanted to go first thing to see the horses.

Boots even go with PJs.

Even dad and Annabel got into the horse theme.
We went to Bernie Brown’s Boothill Ranch to see a miniature horse, but I’d rather look than ride (and this is where I got to jump on the trampoline)

Bertnie had some giant work horses too:

At the Calgary Stampede we saw bucking broncos, calf roping and even chuckwagon races.

At the Bar U Ranch, cowboy Ross took us for a wagon ride.

I’m sure Henry misses me.

So glad you had a GREAT FUN time !!
