Me: “Hey mom, why do they sometimes call Curious George, ‘Jorge?’”
Mom: “Well, when you pronounce names in different langauges, they sound different. Because, remember, the letters in Spanish sound different than the letters in English.”
Me: “Like the A is called ‘Ah’!
Mom: “Right! So Annabel is sometimes called Ah-nah-BELL. And you know what my name is in Spanish? I’m called SAAAW-DAAH.”
Me: “You know what I’m sometimes called? BAAAT MAAN.”
