Mother’s Day

What a weekend!
Saturday we had Annabel’s birthday party and then Mother’s Day! More to come on the goldfish party, but in the meantime, here are some shots of how we spent Sunday.

For mom, we combined her Mother’s Day and birthday present to give her this:

Guess this means we will all be taking lessons now. (aunt mamy used this as motivation to move out.)

Then, we were luck enough to have Tia Karen in town. Dad surprised Mom with a kayaking outing.

That’s Karen and Amy watching the University Bridge make way for a big boat.

Annabel and the boat “awesome!”- is all she kept saying (that and giving mom tips on how to go faster or which way to turn).

The gorgeous weather made us all so happy and the day ended with an impromptu pizza and wine party in the front yard with all the neighbors.

We love our mom!

Spring!

It’s going to be a beautiful week in Seattle – it was almost 75 degrees yesterday and we were sweating! In celebration, we have some Spring posts for you.

Last month, we traveled to visit Grandma in Palm Desert. The week started off just right, because my cousin Anthony happened to be flying through Seattle on his way home. He and I sat next to each other ALONE on the airplane. (Well, Mom and Annabel were a couple rows back, but still!) He got to act as 3rd base coach at my tee-ball game during his layover:

Here he’s cheering me on while I run home:

Then we hopped on a plane and went to Palm Springs. We love the Palm Springs airport – palm trees greeted us:

Once at Grandma’s – we met up with Katy and Gabe – always a great day, when the Atchity cousins are all together.

As Annabel and I are quickly learning, vacations are full of things we don’t normally get to do at home. Sun and swimming aside, we got to do some other things we love.

Mani Pedi:

(My sister’s ability to sit still for grooming is astounding. Strangers were taking her picture.)

We went to Target to stock up on goodies:

Eating lunch at our favorite place:

Going out for gelato in Pajamas (I know this is shocking to many of you)

and a little golf:

This is the life:

And here are some swimming and golf highlights – we are all so proud of Annabel’s swimming achievements.

Happy Easter

Today is my 6th Birthday! But first things first, yesterday was Easter.

What a beautiful day it was! We are all fighting the end of a cold and the sunshine was welcomed!

To celebrate Easter this year, we got ready by painting Easter eggs:

Annabel was very concerned that the Easter Bunny would steal the earrings out of her ears. Luckily, that did not happen (of course not) and now she’s very pleased that he came. She said “I wish the bunny could come to my house again so I could say ‘thank you’”.

She accidentally broke a couple of eggs, so I left a message for the bunny:

It says: “Easter Bunny, two eggs have broke, can you bring us some eggs and some chocolate?”

Here we are hunting for eggs:

It was so warm and pretty yesterday, we decided to spend the morning at the Zoo.

Then we had an egg hunt with the neighbors

To celebrate the coming of spring, the swimsuits made it out! You know you are a true Seattlelite when it’s 63 degrees and we are in bathing suits!

Cool big cousin

I idolize my big cousin, Anthony. He plays baseball and is awesome at it!
He just sent me this, thanks!

Mamie’s new job

Annabel visited Aunt Amy (Mamie) at her new job.

Here they are meeting about potential product schemes:

Mamie loves her lamp–the real reason she wanted visitors:

Annabel left her a smiley face. She thinks she wrote “Ben” up at the top and the mountain-range style signature is how she writes her name. Since she’s only 2, we don’t tell her it doesn’t say “Annabel”:

Congratulations, Mamie! We love you and are so proud of you.

Park City 2012

What a way to spend our winter break!

Here are some highlights of our trip to visit Havana and Charley in Park City, Utah and get a little skiing in.

I was proud of my parents because after not skiing since high school, they both gave it a try and did quite well. While, they couldn’t keep up with me, they still did a great job – Mom didn’t even fall once! (She did run into a tree though.)

That’s me in the crazy pants between cousins, Mark and Natalie.

You can’t miss me flying down the mountain. (I don’t use poles because when little kids first learn to ski, poles just get in the way – or fall of the lift…)

We skied a path through these trees – Tia Karen lost her pole and had to hike up, Natalie fell hard and Mom ran into a tree – Mark and I did just fine!

A beautiful place to be…

Apres Ski – one of the best parts of skiing – the time spent in the lodge after a day on the mountain. Annabel didn’t ski this year, but kept the lodge warm for us.

My dad and Tia Karen – best buds.

The last day was really warm, and we were pooped from skiing all week. Just enjoyed soaking up sun before heading back to Seattle.

Here’s a little video montage to give you an idea of what the week was like:

We can’t wait to go again next year!
