Annabel’s 3rd birthday

As usual, birthdays in our family last about week, not just one day. Annabel turned 3 on May 14th, and we’ve just recovered enough from the goldfish party to post about the rest.

;

On her big day, Annabel enjoyed lunch at Dahlia Lounge downtown with Mom, Aunt Mamy and Grandma. There is no feeling like strolling downtown in a new outfit with a fancy purse:

Later, she helped make her cake:

Then we made homemade pizza:

The next day at school, I helped Mom take the piñata and cupcakes to Annie’s school.

Kind of a mellow bunch of kids.

Finally, her special week ended with a trip to the doctor for the annual checkup.

I’m so proud of my sister – she’s so grown-up.

Spring!

It’s going to be a beautiful week in Seattle – it was almost 75 degrees yesterday and we were sweating! In celebration, we have some Spring posts for you.

Last month, we traveled to visit Grandma in Palm Desert. The week started off just right, because my cousin Anthony happened to be flying through Seattle on his way home. He and I sat next to each other ALONE on the airplane. (Well, Mom and Annabel were a couple rows back, but still!) He got to act as 3rd base coach at my tee-ball game during his layover:

Here he’s cheering me on while I run home:

Then we hopped on a plane and went to Palm Springs. We love the Palm Springs airport – palm trees greeted us:

Once at Grandma’s – we met up with Katy and Gabe – always a great day, when the Atchity cousins are all together.

As Annabel and I are quickly learning, vacations are full of things we don’t normally get to do at home. Sun and swimming aside, we got to do some other things we love.

Mani Pedi:

We went to Target to stock up on goodies:

Going out for gelato in Pajamas (I know this is shocking to many of you)

and a little golf:

And here are some swimming and golf highlights – we are all so proud of Annabel’s swimming achievements.

Big Six

Six years ago, I came into this world and I’ve been having an awesome time ever since!

You saw the posts from the big Pajama Jammy Jam, but yesterday was my ACTUAL birthday, and I had an amazing and special day.

As a big surprise, Dad showed up at school to volunteer as a reading helper in the class. He got to see first hand how much I like school and what an amazing group of kids I’m with everyday.

Later in the day, Mom, Annabel and Grandma brought me cookies and balloons. This is when the whole class sang to me:

I’m so proud of my sister – when my friends found out that she was on campus and about to come to class, they were all so excited!

She got to stay during “Investigation” (That’s fancy Kinder speak for “Playtime”.)

My favorite activity of late, is playing with LEGO and building blocks. In our class, we have a “Block Room” – the highlight of most my days. You can see me bending over helping clean-up.

If it was up to me and my sister, she’d already be in Kindergarten with me.

For my special birthday dinner, I requested sushi from Blue C Sushi – a place I love.

Among, many LEGO sets, I also got a new basketball and a new baseball bat. Here I am testing the new bat.

What do I love now that I’m six?

Favorites:

And, as a special show for my birthday. I danced to my absolute favorite song: Sexy and I know it, by LMFAO. Here I am. Enjoy.

Pajama Jammy Jam

Last Saturday we celebrated my 6th birthday with another dance party! This year the theme was “Pajama Jammy Jam” and my friends all came in the their PJs ready to party.

I’m a lucky kid – I have a bunch of neighbors, friends from my old preschool, my PEPS peeps, and OF COURSE, all my new friends from kindergarten. Apparently, the Jammy Jam was the place to be because we had 30 sixish year olds, 3 preschoolers, 3 tweens (neighbor helpers) and 1 baby! Not to mention a few chaperones to keep the party going.

DJ Daddy was back and in full effect:
