Annabel’s first day of preschool

Annabel will be starting at my old preschool – it is a complete Spanish immersion school – I hope she loves it as much as I did. She will go two mornings a week.

She picked out her clothes and shoes to make an impression the first day – the back pack has nothing in it, but she loves wearing it.

They better be ready for her.

Here she is with her pal, Sofia. Sofia and Annabel are going to spend 2 days a week now with our nanny.

Kindergarten: Day 1

Tuesday was the first day of “real” school – the first day of the next 20 or so years of my academic career.

It was  big moment for me – and for my parents who have spent the last year searching for the best place for my brain to grow.

I wasn’t nervous, in fact, I was quite proud to get myself dressed in my new uniform, use my new back pack and my boombox shaped lunch box.  I made fast friends and had no problem easing in to a new routine.

I can’t wait to go back again tomorrow!

Annabel could not be outdone. She doesn’t start at her preschool (my old one) until Thursday, but she wanted to get dressed up and wear her backpack just like me.

Once she realized she wasn’t going, she wished me good luck with a big hug:

Mom and Dad both took me to school – Dad was acting kinda silly.

My very first circle time at my new school – sitting between my new pals Connor and Mateo.

Uncle Matt and Aunt Jenn’s Wedding

Congratulations Matt and Jennifer. We are so happy for you! I am most excited about my new cousin, Gabe – another awesome boy to play with! We love you guys!

(We didn’t get a lot of pictures, but we got a few good ones.)

What a fine set of cousins!

This is how children really feel at a wedding ceremony:

But we still had lots of fun!

Big Girl Room

As you know, last week Annabel turned 2 – in the last couple of months, a lot of things have changed:

1. She has a big girl bed and room
2. She is mostly potty-trained
3. She refuses to stay in a high-chair and to be treated like a baby
4. She speaks in some sentences (“My Mommy is a poopy-head.”)
5. She is 35 inches tall (80th percentile) and weighs 28lbs (75th percentile) and her head is huge – off the percentile chart.

Here are pictures of her room. I helped my Dad paint it blue for her:

The peach wall, dresser and curtains are “leftover” from her nursery.

Abuela got her a kitchen for her birthday – she makes Cafe con Leche, chicken and sushi for all of us.

Grandma made her this beautiful quilt for her new bed.

Everyday with my little sister is better than the last. I love you, Annabel!

Annabel turns 2!

Yesterday we celebrated Annabel’s second birthday.  It was also the day for my dance recital – so we had a busy and exciting day.

Annabel helped make a cake!

While Annabel was taking her nap, we decorated the house with red  balloons and decorated her an Elmo Cake. She was very happy to get calls from everyone to wish her a happy birthday!

Our best pals, William and Audrey came over for spaghetti and meatballs and cake.

As a birthday present for William (6), I took him to Valentine’s Salon for a “faux hawk”.

I take Ballet and Tap through Exit Space Dance in Green Lake – I love my dance class.

This year, my girl Phoebe was in my class and we danced together. We were not able to video the performance.

Happy Birthday, Annabel! I love you so much!

Surprise, Daddy!

Dad,

I had mom post this to show you my big surprise!
