BenAnnabel

It's all about me and my sister now too.

Last days in Denmark

Dear Big brother,
I’m finally coming home tomorrow! I miss you and Daddy so much! Yesterday we went to Ribe (Ree-bah) which is the oldest city in all of Scandanavia. We saw buildings over 500 years old and even this church from 900 years ago.
today we went to Lego to see where Amy works and to get your presents at the big Lego store. Around town there were some giant Lego bricks. Billund, Denmark is a really cool place! I’m so proud of Aunt Mamie.
Love, Annabel

Ps. when I get home I’ll show you all the pictures these have just been the ones I took on Mamie’s iPhone so I could post them.

Dancing in Berlin

Ben,

How are you? I know you are starting camp today and I hope some of your school friends will be there. I’ll be home on Wednesday so you can tell me all about it then. I was so happy to hear your voice on the phone yesterday – maybe we can skype this afternoon. I went swimming yesterday and saw some boys about the same age as you and I kept watching them – I really miss you.

We saw these people dancing in Berlin when we were walking around. They put their hats out on the ground hoping people would put money in them.

You  would have enjoyed seeing it – so I videotaped this for you:

You can see me in this one:

Hamburg

Ben,
Walking tour of Hamburg Germay. Apparently trips to Europe mean lots and lots of walking. I prefer the beach.
Love,
your sister

Germany

Dear Ben,
We’ve now arrived in Germany, the country between Denmark and France -dad will have to show you on the map.
We’re in a city called Hamburg and German people are so nice and friendly! I broke some glasses at dinner and they all just laughed!
I also saw a lot of goose poop today and I thought you would think that is funny. Mom got you a cool pair of Star Wars underwear and other surprises too.
Love, Annabel

Esbjerg

Dear Ben,
How are you? How are Dad and Moose doing?
Travel to Denmark has been fun so far and I’ve been sharing a bed with Mommy so that’s really cool. She tells me that when we travel to Europe we have to see a lot of art…I know you’ve seen Michaelangelo’s David–but I got to see these giant statues near the North Sea in a town called Esbjerg (no idea how to pronounce this). They are over 30 feet tall…taller than our house!
I look forward to seeing other large statues together with you some day.
Love,
Annabel

Ho

Dear Ben,
Today we woke up and it was raining. So we went for a nice drive through a town called Ho. It was windy and pretty and we saw some nice happy cows.
Luckily the weather improved and we made it to the beach. I love to play in the sand but I scare mom and Mamy because I’m not afraid to crawl into the water.
I love you and know you start sports camp tomorrow. Have fun! I miss you.
Love,
Annabel

Blavand

Dear Ben,
Today we arrived in the far west of Denmark in Blavand (bloh-vahnd) to enjoy the beach for a few days.
Here’s a picture of the cottage we rented.
I will send you pictures of the beach and horses tomorrow!
Love,
Annie

Dear Ben,

I’ll miss you so much while I’m away, so I’m going to put pictures here for you to see what I’m up to while visiting Aunt Mamy.

I flew on 3 airplanes to get here! One plane was so big, it even had stairs inside. Mom had to wear a funny seatbelt that went around my tummy too. We sat next to a baby boy named Rowan who is the same age as me – he was from Holland – maybe Daddy will show you were Holland is on the map. Our flight was really long, so they gave me a baby bed to sleep in and Rowan slept on the floor – it was kinda of like your bunk beds.

When Aunt Mamy picked us up she drove us around her area a little bit and town where she lives is called Vejle (vay-lah). There are lots of farms here and it’s really beautiful. We walked down to the water of the Fjord (Fee-yord) and saw this bridge that Grandma really likes.

We’re off to the beach – I wish you were here to play with me in the sand.

Love,

Your baby sister, Annabel.

Weekend in California

We spent a fantastic weekend with all my cousins in Southern California. We got to go to Disneyland and then we had a party for Annabel’s 1st birthday (it was a joint party with Taylor – my cousin who is now 3)!
