The Gorge

To celebrate my last weekend before school starts, I got to go camping for the first time.  Annabel and I loved it and can’t wait to ask Santa for camping supplies of our very own.

We camped at Vantage River Resort on the Columbia River.

Dave Matthews Band Caravan was performing at the Gorge- but most importantly we were there to watch our good pal Christian perform with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.  We got to go back stage and even on stage (practically) to watch the show.

Megan and Zubin came too (luckily my mom and dad had some expert campers to show us how it’s done.)

Enjoy the slide show.

OC with the Atchitys

Because summer hadn’t found it’s way to Seattle yet, we spent two wonderful days at the beach with Mark, Shauna and Anthony and Katy. The Forment cousins from San Diego came and joined us one day too! My cousin Cody took Anthony out to ride the waves – we can’t wait to go back!

Los Angeles Part 2

Last month we got to go to California AGAIN – this time to celebrate my Uncle Matt’s wedding. (Those pictures to come in an upcoming post).

I got to spend a lot of time with my cousins and I can’t wait to go back.

The first day there, we went to practice Uncle Matt and Aunt Jennifer’s wedding and out to Marino’s for a delicious Italian dinner.

Here’s the bridal party being told what to do:

The next day, we went to LA Brea Tar Pits.

PEPS and Lake Chelan

We spent a weekend with our PEPS group in Lake Chelan. If you don’t know what my PEPS group is – check out some older pictures of us. We’ve been friends since birth and now we each have a little sibling to share in our group fun. Four families went together and loved it!

Lake Chelan is a 55-mile-long lake in Central Washington – East of the Cascades. It was our first time over the Cascades and we were delighted to discover more of the beauty of our home state. We’re looking forward to discovering more soon. This is the largest lake in Washington and you pronounce is like “Shay-laan”.

New York City Day 2

Dear Annabel,

To be honest, jet lag set in today so we had a pretty mellow day…I had a blister on my foot, I was over tired and over hungry.

We walked down to Battery Park to get a good view of the Statue of Liberty, walked by Ground Zero and Wall Street. Here’s a few shots of me exploring the Big Apple. I miss you!

Love, Ben

New York City Day 1

Dear Annabel,

I’ve encountered this very cool new city called, New York.

Here are some things I’d like to tell you:

1. The subway is very dirty and smells like pee

2. The horses go clop clop clop and have ribbons on their heads

3 Most people in New York take taxis and they have TVs inside.

4. You should come to New York soon and go iceskating with me.

We went to an awesome toy store (and we got you a couple of things).

I played a giant piano – you would have LOVED it:

This is where I tried to learn to ice skate:

I enhaled my sushi dinner:

I have a cookie for you:
